Canada Goose launches shoes at CF Sherway Gardens

My feet are really ready for winter now that Canada Goose has launched their first collection of shoes, and they are amazing from the design to the soles.

Like their jackets, which have become a standard for keeping people warm and dry, Canada Goose boots put luxury in shoes, and they are truly comfortable, warm and stylish.

At a special preview event at The Journey, the Canada Goose retail store in CF Sherway Gardens, I found my perfect boot size, tested the shoes, and had the chance to chat with their expert features and limited edition cases.

The cocoon on a trip to CF Sherway Gardens

This was my first trip to a Canada Goose store, and it is nothing like what you would expect from a retail space.

As an experience, more than a traditional store, the space stands out. Canada Goose created a vibe for the experience, and that speaks to how the boots were designed, what they are made for, and the quality of the boots. Indoors you can try on the shoes and then test them in a really cold space with ice, snow and subzero temperatures.

You can watch my preview video of The Journey, but when you first enter the store you’ll walk through the Rift, an immersive experience that feels like walking through an icy path under the Northern Lights.

Once inside, there’s a circular room that almost feels like you’re outside, and at the center of that space is the Cocoon, a world exclusive to The Journey location that echoes it. to features of the Canadian landscape. The Cedar Cocoon is a natural semicircle in the middle of the room that includes the Canada Goose Foot Scanner powered by Volumental, a 3D system that measures your feet so you can choose the perfect pair of boots.

Standing there, it feels like you’re already on an expedition with your new boots on, thanks to the scent of Cocoon cedar and the pale blue light on the horizon.

After having your feet scanned, the next step is to choose between the two types of boots: Snow Mantra or The Journey.

Snow Mantra Boots

The Snow Mantra boots are true Canadian winter shoes for deep, serious snow from Canada Goose that match the brand’s Snow Mantra jacket. The boots were designed for the most extreme winter conditions, fitting almost to the knee of an average person and insulated to keep you warm down to -30 ° C, or a thermal experience rating of 5 .

Paired with a Canada Goose parka, this is the perfect extreme winter combo that will keep you warm in almost any winter condition.

The Journey boots are the luxury hiking-style alternative, with a lighter construction rated TEI 2, or for temperatures between 0 ° C and -15 ° C. I chose them because they are made to withstand winter in the city or for the next off the beaten track adventure in the snow. They’re smaller, lighter, and a bit more versatile for average winter conditions.

No matter which boots you choose, all shoes have a waterproof membrane, so they will keep your feet warm and dry, even in wet snow and slush. Canada Goose has also worked with responsibly sourced TerraCare leather, to make the boots as environmentally friendly as possible.

For colors, you can choose between black, white or gorgeous red for the Snow Mantra boots, while the Journey is available in black, dark cedarwood, and medium gray / white.

Finally, it’s worth talking a bit about the absolutely amazing limited edition cases. When you purchase either of the boots, they come in an airtight case which is perfect for serious travelers who either want to keep their boots safe or plan to bring their best camera gear for their next adventure. These are fantastic and well designed cases to go with the epic shoes.

I became a huge fan of Canada Goose this year, and I love what they are doing with the designs, styles and new products. I love their coats, and people are going to be in awe of their shoe collection. Check out my video below for a better look at The Journey and the awesome new shoes.
